Find an LBP

You must hire a Licenced Building Practitioner (LBP) to complete some types of work on your home.

When you need an LBP

You can check if someone is an LBP by:

• Asking to see their current licence ID. This will be either a digital licence or printout of their digital licence. Their licence will have a QR code you can scan to see their credentials.
• Searching their details on the public register.

Make sure the LBP you are hiring is registered in the correct class for the work. You can find the list of classes and the areas of practice for each class below.
