Prosecution of an unlicensed person – Aaron Billington
Mr Aaron Billington a roofer based in Palmerston North, carried out the construction of a roof while un-licensed.
The construction of the roof is restricted building work (RBW) and must be carried out or supervised by a licenced building practitioner. Mr Billington had previously held an LBP licence, but it was suspended during the time he carried out the work.
He issued a Record of Work which indicated that he was an LBP who was licensed to carry out or supervise RBW.
Mr Billington was convicted and fined $1800 for breaching 369 of the Building Act.
