The 1-year transition period for the 2023 Building Code update has ended
In November 2023, MBIE published updated acceptable solutions and verification methods which support plumbing and drainage work, and protection from fire. These changes came with a 1-year transition period where the previous versions of the documents could still be used.
The transition period for these updates ended on 1 November 2024.
This means that building consent applications submitted on or after 2 November 2024 that use these acceptable solutions or verification methods as a means of compliance now need to use the most recent versions of these documents.
You can check the date that a document became effective in the document status section of the relevant acceptable solution or verification method. This section sets out the dates that the most recent version became effective on, and the date that a previous version can be used until.
