Relicensing
Every year the Registrar contacts you 20 working days before your licence identification card expires to confirm you wish to remain licensed.
You will be asked to:
- complete your skills maintenance requirements (if due this year)
- confirm your current details
- complete the application declaration
- pay the annual renewal fee and scheme levy of $239.00 (inc GST).
You must submit an application for relicensing before your licence ID card expires to avoid being charged a late fee.
For more information on relicensing, please see Rules 14, 15 and 17 of the LBP Rules.
Submit your application for relicensing
You can renew your licence by logging into our online portal. This will give you the option to complete an application for relicensing, and pay the licence renewal fee (including any late fee that may apply).
Tool
Login to the portal
This is the fastest and easiest method to renew your licence and keep your details up to date.
LoginIf you are unable to use our LBP portal, you can also renew your license on paper by submitting the form below. If you provide an email address with this form, the Registrar will contact you via email. Please keep in mind that a paper-based application may take longer to process.
If you do not intend to renew your licence, you can voluntarily request to suspend or cancel your licence.
Suspend or cancel your licence
Every second year you are required to show the Registrar that you have met your skills maintenance obligations. This applies even if your licence is suspended.
Late relicensing and additional fee
If you do not submit an application for relicensing before your licence identification card expires, the Registrar will send you a reminder notice.
You may still submit an application for relicensing after receiving this reminder but you will be charged an additional late fee of $25.56.
If you do not submit an application for relicensing after receiving this reminder:
- your licence will be automatically suspended 20 working days from the date of this reminder notice.
- your licence will be cancelled within 12 months from the date of the suspension.
If your licence is cancelled, you will need to apply for a new licence to regain your licence.
